Have You Discovered Your Life Vision?

Years ago, I was on a pastoral visitation at the house of a couple who had visited my church. The wife had greeted me and the husband was somewhere else in the house. The wife excused herself and said, I will be right back. In a few moments she came back in and said, can you help me, my husband is stuck. The man did not want to see me that day, so he tried to climb out the window and he got stuck in a small window in the bathroom. I went back with the wife and tried to maintain a straight face to help the husband get unstuck. The good news of the story is we got him unstuck and later he became a devoted follower of Jesus.

Are you like the man in the story? Are you feeling stuck in life. As I have travelled the country, I have discovered over the years, that the majority of people are feeling stuck. Very few of the saints walk in an excitement of purpose and vision. It is estimated that only 5% of Christians have a clear, concise vision. How about you?Would you like to wake up each day with a clear assignment or vision? Let me share a few tips to help with your pursuit of your life vision.

Whereupon,O king Agrippa, I was not disobedient unto the heavenly vision. (Acts 26:19)

Our vision should always originate from the one who gives vision, the Lord himself. Paul had a heavenly vision clearly given him by God. We must understand that the depth of our personal relationship with God will determine the depth of our heavenly vision. God is the originator. In 1 Corinthians verse 1 and verse 9, we see a clear principle that should operate in our lives. In verse one Paul is called to be an apostle by the will of God. In verse 9 he shares that we are called into fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ. Theses two verses illustrate the two sides of our calling, a specific call and a general call. It we do not have fellowship with Jesus and yes his body, we will lack a specific calling. If you are not sure of your heavenly vision, begin to seek the Lord in a deeper fellowship in intimacy with Him. Also gather with other like-minded believers and especially those who will train you to be equip for the Lord, in your ministry.

So many times we try on our own to understand the call of God and we get stuck or we give up on ever finding true purpose in life. There are things we can do to get clarity of purpose and vision. We first must work on our relationship with Jesus. As we walk in the light, we will receive light. If you need help, let me suggest my book, The Vision Principle on Amazon.
