Understanding Oikos and Ekklesia in Kingdom Advancement.

So many times there is a sense of frustration among spiritual leaders who are trying their best to see their ministry grow and advance. One thing which is lacking in many of our churches is the misunderstanding of how Kingdom, Ekklesia and Oikos relate with each other, so the kingdom of God actually works. Some basic definitions would be helpful. Kingdom is the rule and reign of God over a territory starting with us as individuals, as He rules and reigns in our hearts. The starting point for all ministry is our loving submission to our King out of a loving relationship of obedience with Him. When we are submitted to the King, everything we do is a result of something He initiates. He is the author and finisher of our faith. We only do what we see the father doing and only say what we hear the Father saying. If we could understand the importance of a right kingdom relationship with Jesus, many of our frustration would cease. Whatever is not of faith is sin, and God is the originator of our faith.

Secondly we must understand that our kingdom assignment has been originated in heaven as we are called out of Heaven as ambassadors for the King. Ekklesia is a combination of two words, Ek, out of origin, and Kaleo, called by God to assume a function of office. We must understand we have a personal assignment from the King, that we should function in on earth . Imagine every believer in our church pews, who understand they have a divine assignment from the Lord ,that He strategically has positioned us to assume .

Thirdly he has placed us in our fields, which we often call our metrons, sphere of influences or kingdom fields. Matthew 13:24 Another parable put he forth unto them,The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field. Oikos is the word for build and is the place of influence or household. This is the strategic place where our kingdom assignments operate. If we are not positioned properly, the kingdom of heaven will not advance. God gives us His authority for where He sends us. Matthew 16:18 is an often quoted scripture that we must realize is connected to kingdom advancement .Jesus says he will build, oikos, His church, ekklesia, and the gates of hell will not prevail against this ekklesia. When we are called out of heaven with our divine assignments to the people and place we are called to function, the kingdom will advance. When we now our origin, our true identities and we are place where the Lord has sent us. the devil will be on the run as Gods glorious kingdom is advancing and chaging everything around us.
